Karl Bohm

 

Karl Böhm (28 August 1894 – 14 August 1981) was an Austrian conductor. He was best known for his performances of the music of Mozart, Wagner, and Richard Strauss. While known predominantly as a guest conductor of symphonies and operas, he had close associations with the Berlin Philharmonic (particularly recording all of the Mozart symphonies there) and the Vienna Philharmonic (recording all of the Beethoven symphonies there).  He also conducted regularly at the Bayreuth Festival.
