A "Digital" tag was positioned under the logo for a series of recordings using an exclusive process of "Digital Recording" to compete with the high end audiophile pressings at the time from other major label makers. Recordings were engineered on the JVC Digital Audio System (DAS-90). Vinyl pressings were issued on a quality virgin vinyl, and cassettes issued on chromium-dioxide tape formulas. The LPs using the process of Digital Recording carried a prefix D-VCL and tapes used D-VCS, while the others used prefixes of VCL or VCS respectively.
