"Founded in 1957, the Choir from Moncton New Brunswick, comprised of 66 girls between the ages of 10 and 18, has won top honours in its classification almost every year since 1959. In 1964 and 1967, the Choir ranked highest in the New Brunswick Festival. During Canada's Centennial Year, it won the Mathieson Trophy awarded to the best Junior Choir in Canada and was chosen to participate in the National Festival and to appear in concert at Expo '67. In 1968, the Choir travelled to Europe and won top honours in competitions. The Choir director, Sister Adeline is a music teacher at Convent Sainte-Helene. Because of their Acadian background where biculturalism is a natural way of life, the choir is equally adept in singing in both French and English. On this album, they also perform two selections in German." - from liner notes
