Wilbur "Buck" Clayton was an American jazz trumpeter who was a member of Count Basie's orchestra, starting in 1937.  After WWII, Clayton was busy in New York, arranging for Basie, Benny Goodman and Harry James, eventually joining Norman Granz's Jazz at the Philharmonic package
