Arthur Brown
"ARTHUR BROWN was one of the prime movers behind the Progressive underground in late 1960s England, famous for his outlandish stage act which included psychedelic robes and a helmet of fire! He was born in Whitby, England during an air raid in 1944, after a failed bid to study Law at King's College in London he studied philosophy at Reading University. After singing in various R&B groups, he formed his band THE CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN: this consisted of Brown (vocals), Vincent Crane (organ) and Drachen Theaker (drums), the latter of which would soon be replaced by a young Carl Palmer after the band's US tour." - Robin Cook, Prog Archives
