Ransom Wilson
Originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Julliard-educated Ransom Wilson studied with world-renowned flute virtuoso Jean-Pierre Rampal for a year in Paris before embarking on a world-wide career of his own. A sought-after soloist, he has appeared with many of the great orchestras including the London Symphony, Chicago Symphony, English Chamber Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and I Solisti Veneti. His more than twenty-five solo albums have brought Grammy nominations and an NPR Award. A respected conductor, Mr. Wilson has conducted chamber orchestras, opera and full orchestras throughout the U.S. and abroad. He is Professor of Flute at the Yale School of Music.
