Ray Steadman-Allen (a Londoner) was a composer of brass band and chorale music, predominantly for the Salvation Army but also for concert presentations, special occasions and band competitions.  He held a Doctorate and was president of London's National College of Music. He was highly respected in brass band circles around the world.
