Jack McDuff
"Brother" Jack McDuff, immortalized in Pat Martino's tune "MacTough", was a hard-driving jazz organist. His early trios and quartets features luminaries such as George Bensoin and Red Holloway. A friend of mine referred to McDuff as the Art Blakey of the organ, an assessment that is not far wrong. He recorded extensively for Prestige, Atlantic, Blue Note and Cadet.
