Maria Muldaur
New York City native Maria Muldaur forged a vocal style that was instantly recognizable. Performing with the Even Dozen Jug Band and the Jim Kweskin Jug Band, she was a popular figure on the Greenwich Village folk scene. Her breakthrough solo album in 1973 featured her hit Midnight at the Oasis, which was a Billboard top-ten single and which is still associated with her. Many solo recordings were to follow, as well as projects with Jerry Garcia, Paul Butterfield and others.
