Among the most prolific session musicians of the 20th century, Snooky Young was a master of the plunger mute.  A veteran of the bands of Jimmie Lunceford, Count Basie, Gerald Wilson and Lionel Hampton, he came to prominence during his 25-year stint with the Tonight Show Band (1968-1992).
