Anyone who has seen Disney's Fantasia has seen Leopold Stokowski.  One of the great figures of twentieth century classical music, his no-baton style and lavish orchestral signature sound shaped many of the United Sates' great orchestras: The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Cincinnatti Symphony Orchestra, The New York Philharmonic, The Houston Symphony & The NBC Symphony.  A true phenomenon, he conducted and recorded into his 90s.
