This album features recordings of vocalists with trumpet or cornet accompaniment - a track each of King Oliver, Tommy Ladnier and Cicero Thomas, and obscure but excellent players Don Albert (4 tracks), Punch Miller (2), Shirley Clay (2), Dewey Jackson (2) and the final track by Louis Dumaine. Vocalists are Ben Norsingle, Texas Alexander, Dave Cross, Clara Herring, Bertha Hill, Billy & Mary Mack, Luella Miller and Ann Cook. Liner notes are by jazz historian Carl Kendziora Jr.
