On March 29, 1974 the Fern Alumni Chorus hosted a combined Welsh Gymanfa Ganu and Scottish Ceilidh in Metropolitan United Church. In the venerable tradition of Gymanfa Ganu and Ceilidh, the audience joined its voice with that of the choir. Over 500 voices were lifted in song with the great organ, Scottish piper (Sgt. Jim Thompson, Toronto Scottish Regiment) and a brass and string ensemble.
