Thelonious Monk

Thelonious Monk

Thelonious Monk was a pillar of jazz history, leading from the 1950s be-bop era to the post-bop era and beyond. He is, famously, the second-most-recorded jazz composer after Duke Ellington and one of only five jazz musicians ever featured on the cover of Time magazine.  He was also one of the most maligned and clearly misunderstood celebrities of his time.
