Bengt Hallberg

Bengt Hallberg

Classically trained, Swedish pianist Bengt Hallberg channeled his interest in jazz into a full-time career during the 1950s, often playing accompaniment for visiting American jazz stars.  He also worked with most of the outstanding Swedish players of the era.  His compositional skill and versatile style was perfect for film and TV studio work which occupied much of his later life.  An accomplished accordionist, he also specialized in choral composition and arrangement.  His trips to the U.S. resulted in recordings with friends like Clark Terry and Al Grey.
