Oliver Jones

Born in Montreal, Oliver Jones studied with Oscar Peterson's sister Daisy from the age of eight.  With a firm background playing in Montreal clubs, theatres and churches, he eventually formed a duo with bassist Charlie Biddle for an extended residency at Mr. Biddle's jazz club.  Once they started recording for the Justin Time label, national exposure followed and Oliver jones assumed the mantle of Canada's jazz ambassador, travelling to Europe and Africa while teaching at both McGill and Laurentian Universities.  He is an Officer of the Order of Canada (1993).
