Guido Basso

Guido Basso

A Member of the Order of Canada, Guido Basso originally hailed from Montreal where he developed and honed his trumpet skills.  After road gigs with Vic Damone, Pearl Bailey and Louie Bellson, he settled in Toronto.  By the early 1960s, he was a first-call studio musician, probably Toronto's busiest trumpeter for the next few decades.  Known for his unparalled professionalism, exquisite tone and keen musical acumen, he was a charter member of the Boss Brass and has remained a staple of the Canadian jazz scene.
