Elektra Musician

Elektra/Musician was a jazz record label founded as a subsidiary of Elektra Records in 1982. The label was headed by Bruce Lundvall and released its first batch of albums on February 12, 1982. During its decade long run under Warner Communications' Elektra / Asylum / Nonesuch Group, the label released albums from both established and up and coming acts. Following the reorganization of Elektra and the formation of the Elektra Entertainment Group in 1994, the label was closed. Elektra Musician released about 70 albums, 34 of which reached the Billboard Jazz LP chart.
