Felix Mendelssohn

Felix Mendelssohn

Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor (from 1844) is one of the Great Four (with those of Beethoven, Brahms and Bruch), but it is only one piece of a vast mosaic of works: chamber music, operas, symphonies, organ music, choral works, piano music and songs.  His hectic creative pace may well have contributed to his early death at 38.
